Sustainable use of rice husk is a subject of many recent researches. This study aims to determine the effect of
rice husk biochar on the mechanical properties and chemical resistance of concrete. Methodology includes
comprehensive literature review, followed by experimental investigations where Rice Husk Biochar (RHB) was partially replaced with cement in concrete at percentages ranging from 1% to 3.5 %. The results reveal that incorporating RHB into concrete enhances the compressive strengths, tensile strength, and durability, along with providing excellent resistance to chloride and sulfate solution. The results show that RHB has excellent potential to be used as a sustainable RHB used in replacement of cementin making environmentally friendly concrete by utilization of agricultural waste.
